Anonymous content – Trustus

Although media and print groups are supposed to credit photographers for their work – they say that promotional photographers “don’t count.” Yet, when their photographers shoot promotional photos for a story – they add a photo credit.

The anonymous sword swings again: http://www.free-times.com/index.php?cat=1992912064185185&ShowArticle_ID=11011208094536538

I know that the writer mentioned my credit to editors/designers… but as is the case with The State’s unspoken policy – photographers remain shafted.

In The State’s article – the case is worse. http://www.thestate.com/living/story/893526.html. The State printing press requires that images be lightened so they require less ink to print; however, when the images are uploaded to The State’s website, the lightening is included. Kinda glad they “forgot” to credit the photographer, again.

In my two years shooting with Trustus – TheState has only appropriately credited me once for promotional work. I have several news/arts related photos that have been correctly credited including cover photos – but only once for a promo photo.
